VUSAF Meritorious Service Award 

This award is the highest obtainable award within the VUSAF. It is reserved for those who have performed far beyond the duties of the organization. Has displayed the highest level of ESPIRIT DE CORPS to benefit a comrade(s) in arms. A person given this award has achieved the highest plateau of their virtual career. Recipients must have served in a senior leadership role within VUSAF for a period greater than two (2) years to become eligible.

VUSAF Airmen Commendation Medal 

This award signifies a milestone of a member's virtual career within the VUSAF. It is reserved for those who have performed beyond the duties of their assigned position and has displayed the highest level of ESPIRIT DE CORPS to benefit a comrade(s) in arms.

VUSAF Airmen Commendation Medal w/Bronze Attachment 

This award signifies that a member within the VUSAF has earned this award for a second time. This award is reserved for those who have performed beyond the duties of their assigned position and has displayed the highest level of ESPIRIT DE CORPS to benefit a comrade(s) in arms.

VUSAF Airmen Commendation Medal w/ 2 Bronze Attachment  

This award signifies that a member has reached their second milestone of their virtual career within the VUSAF. It is reserved for those who have performed beyond the duties of their assigned position and has displayed the highest level of ESPIRIT DE CORPS to benefit a comrade(s) in arms.

VUSAF Airmen Commendation Medal w/ 3 Bronze Attachment  

This award signifies that a member has reached a milestone of their virtual career within the VUSAF for the third time. It is reserved for those who have performed beyond the duties of their assigned position and has displayed the highest level of ESPIRIT DE CORPS to benefit a comrade(s) in arms.

VUSAF Distinguished Service Medal 

The purpose of this device is to recognize those members who display unwavering dedication and professionalism above and beyond the call of duty of the VUSAF.

VUSAF Distinguished Flying Cross w/Bronze Attachment 

The Bronze attachment signifies the bearer to have been awarded the VUSAF Distinguished Flying Cross on two separate occasions.

VUSAF Distinguished Flying Cross 

The Distinguished Flying Cross is awarded to any person who, while serving in any capacity with the VUSAF, distinguishes himself by extraordinary achievement while participating in simulated combat operations during aerial flight. The performance of the act of must be evidenced by voluntary action above and beyond the call of duty. The extraordinary achievement must have resulted in an accomplishment so exceptional and outstanding as to clearly set the individual apart from his comrades or from other persons in similar circumstances and must have been performed in simulated combat.

VUSAF Air Medal w/ Bronze Attachment 

The Bronze attachment signifies the bearer to have been awarded the VUSAF AIR MEDAL on two separate occasions.

VUSAF Air Medal 

This decoration is awarded for acts of outstanding airmanship or meritorious achievements while participating in aerial flight and in actual simulated combat in support of approved operations or exercises. Required achievement must be accomplished with distinction above and beyond that expected of professional airmen.

VUSAF Aerial Achievement Medal 

This decoration is awarded sustained meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight. The achievements must be accomplished with distinction above and beyond that normally expected of professional airmen. It may also be awarded for acts of courage lesser than for award of the Air Medal.

VUSAF Aerial Achievement Medal w/ Bronze Attachment 

The Bronze attachment signifies the bearer to have been awarded the VAAM on two separate occasions.

Joint Service Commendation Medal 

The JSCM shall be awarded only to members of the vUSAF who play a key role and distinguished themselves by meritorious achievement or service in a joint operation. Authority to award the JSCM is hereby delegated to the MAJCOM Commander or the ANG Director. A bronze "V" is authorized if the citation is for an act or service involving direct participation in simulated combat operation during the period after 1 January 2005. The "V" device is authorized if the citation is approved for valor (heroism) in a designated combat area.

Joint Service Commendation Medal w/ Bronze Attachment 

The Bronze attachment signifies the bearer to have been awarded the JSCM on two separate occasions.

Virtual Air Force Commendation Medal 

This medal is awarded to members who, while serving in any capacity with the Virtual Air Force, shall have distinguished themselves by meritorious achievement and service. The degree of merit must be distinctive, though it need not be unique.

This medal is awarded to members who, for the third time, while serving in any capacity with the Virtual Air Force, shall have distinguished themselves by meritorious achievement and service. The degree of merit must be distinctive, though it need not be unique.

Virtual Air Force Commendation Medal w/ 3 Bronze Attachment 

This medal is awarded to members who, for the fourth time, while serving in any capacity with the Virtual Air Force, shall have distinguished themselves by meritorious achievement and service. The degree of merit must be distinctive, though it need not be unique.

Virtual Air Force Commendation Medal w/ 1 Silver Attachment 

This medal is awarded to members who, for the fifth time, while serving in any capacity with the Virtual Air Force, shall have distinguished themselves by meritorious achievement and service. The degree of merit must be distinctive, though it need not be unique.

Virtual Air Force Commendation Medal w/ 2 Silver Attachment 

This medal is awarded to members who, for the tenth time, while serving in any capacity with the Virtual Air Force, shall have distinguished themselves by meritorious achievement and service. The degree of merit must be distinctive, though it need not be unique.

Virtual Air Force Commendation Medal w/ 3 Silver Attachment 

This medal is awarded to members who, for the fifthteenth time, while serving in any capacity with the Virtual Air Force, shall have distinguished themselves by meritorious achievement and service. The degree of merit must be distinctive, though it need not be unique.

Joint Service Achievement Medal 

The JSAM shall be awarded only to members of the vUSAF who, distinguished themselves by outstanding performance of duty and meritorious achievement in a Joint Service operation.

The Bronze attachment signifies the bearer to have been awarded the JSAM on two separate occasions.

Virtual Air Force Achievement Medal 

This decoration is awarded sustained meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight. The achievements must be accomplished with distinction above and beyond that normally expected of professional airmen. It may also be awarded for acts of airmanship or meritorious achievements lesser than for award of the Air Medal.

The Bronze attachment signifies the bearer to have been awarded the AFAM on two separate occasions.

VUSAF Unit Citation Award 

The purpose of this device is to recognize VUSAF UNITS regardless of service. The unit must perform exceptionally well above normal standards, by displaying the HIGHEST professionalism, activity, skill, and etc.

Virtual Air Force Outstanding Unit Award 

The Virtual Air Force Outstanding Unit Award is awarded by the vUSAF/CS units which have distinguished themselves by exceptionally meritorious service or outstanding achievement that clearly sets the unit above and apart from similar units, the services include; performance of exceptionally meritorious service, accomplishment of a specific outstanding achievement of national or international significance, combat operations. A bronze "V" device is worn on the ribbon to denote award for combat or direct combat support actions.

Air Force Outstanding Unit Award w/ Bronze Attachment 

The Bronze attachment signifies the bearer to have been awarded the VUSAF Air Force Outstanding Unit Award on two separate occasions.

Distinguished Squadron 

This device is given out every 3-6 months to the squadron with the most hours per pilot number…

VUSAF Combat Readiness Medal 

Shall be awarded to members of the vUSAF for sustained individual combat or mission readiness or preparedness for direct weapon-system employment. Criteria: Once UPT, SUPT and MQT training phases have all been completed, the member must complete a cumulative of 12 months of sustained professional performance as a member of vUSAF combat or mission-ready units subject to combat readiness. The term "Combat Ready" is defined as maintaining monthly training requirements as assigned by MAJCOM/CC or their designated representative in aircraft that may be used in combat operations.

Good Conduct Award 

This device is awarded to pilots who complete all flights on schedule and advise when they cannot.

VUSAF Armed Forces Service Medal 

The VUSAF Armed Forces Service Medal is awarded to members of the VUSAF who, after 1 January 2004 have participate, as members of VUSAF, in at least 4 VSOA military operations in a single year that are deemed to be a significant activities by the VUSAF.

VATSIM Special Operations Administration Joint Operations Medal 

VSOA Joint Operations Medal is to recognize the accomplishments of vUSAF members participating or in direct support of another VSOA Organization exercise or operation. Examples of other operations are: 1. Exercise Crocodile (vRAAF), 2. Exercise Kiwi (vRAAF), 3. Operation Salitre (vFACH)

Hawaii Festival Participation Award 

The purpose of this device is to recognize those members who participated in either the deployment or redeployment, or take part in at least one major operations, or 8 hours

VUSAF Operation Red Flag Participation Award 

Issued to a pilot who actively participated in the VUSAF's RED FLAG Training exercise.

VUSAF Operation Black Forest Award 

This award is issued to a pilot who actively participated in vUSAF's Operation Black Forest training exercise.

Operation Sandman Participation Ribbon 

Awarded to any Member of vUSAF, or vUSMC who participated in Operation Sandman 2004

Operation Southern Outlook Participation Award 

This device is awarded to those pilots who participated in Operation Southern Outlook

Expeditionary Medal 

Awarded to members that have participated in an AEF Operation, and meets at least ONE (1) of the criteria listed in vAFI 36-102, Section 7.8.1

Expeditionary Medal w/Bronze Attachment 

Second subsequent Award to members that have participated in an AEF Operation, and meets at least two (2) of the criteria listed in vAFI 36-102, Section 7.8.1

Overseas Service Award 

The purpose of this device is to recognize members who have completed a 6 month active tour of OVERSEAS duty NOT on or in U.S. territories: ALASKA, HAWAII.

VUSAF Humanitarian Service Medal 

The Humanitarian Service Medal is awarded to members of the VUSAF have distinguish themselves by meritorious, direct participation in any significant military act or operation of a humanitarian nature approved by the VUSAF.

VUSAF Longevity Award 

The purpose if this device is to reflect those members who have ACTIVELY maintained a membership and logged a sortie / ATC control hour once a week for a period of 6 months. For each year thereafter, a member will receive a gold star. On the fifth year the member will receive a silver star.

VUSAF 1 Year Longevity Award 

The purpose if this device is to reflect those members who have ACTIVELY maintained a membership and logged a sortie / ATC control hour once a week for a period of 12 months

VUSAF 2 Year Longevity Award 

The purpose if this device is to reflect those members who have ACTIVELY maintained a membership and logged a sortie / ATC control hour once a week for a period of two years.

VUSAF 3 Year Longevity Award 

The purpose if this device is to reflect those members who have ACTIVELY maintained a membership and logged a sortie / ATC control hour once a week for a period of 3 years.

VUSAF 4 Year Longevity Award 

The purpose if this device is to reflect those members who have ACTIVELY maintained a membership and logged a sortie / ATC control hour once a week for a period of 4 years.

VUSAF 5 Year Longevity Award

VUSAF 10 Year Longevity Award

UNAF Founder 

This award signafies the beaer as one of the original founders of the United Nations Air Forces which was started on SATCO in the year 1999 and later developed into IAMPSO and then current VATSIM SPEC OPS ADMIN.

vUSAF Founder 

This device indicates that the bearer is one of the founding members of the VUSAF which opened on 01-DEC-99 and is considered an owner of the VUSAF virtual organization concept and related material, etc.

vUSAF Foundership Award 

This device is given by appointment to VUSAF members by the vUSAF Founders based on merit, dedication, contribution and many other unique qualities that a member may display while serving within the VUSAF.

Instructor Pilot 

This device indicates the bearer to be a rated Instructor Pilot for the VUSAF.

Senior Instructor Pilot 

This device sgnifies the bearer to be a Senior Instructor Pilot for the VUSAF

Master Instructor Pilot 

This device signifies the bearer to be a Master Instructor Pilot for the VUSAF.

Website Maintenance 

A person who helps maintain the website shall receive this ribbon. If after 6 months of time has passed and they decide they can no longer work on the site, they shall keep this ribbon to show they did work on the site.

Public Relations 

Individual who are to receive this are required to be a part of the recruiting or news department. This is to show they are a person to speak with in regards to recruiting or news

Recruitment Ribbon 

Recruit two persons into the vUSAF, said recruits shall be active for their first ninety (90) days of their membership and list the recruiting member by name in their application.

 

 

 

 

 

V.U.S.A.F. Pilot Wings

 

  PILOT

 This device represents a member as a rated PILOT of an aircrew. The bearer, of this particular device has a total flight hour accumulation between 0 to 749hrs as Pilot In Command.

SENIOR PILOT

 This device represents a member of an aircrew with an accumulation of total flight hours between 750 to 1499 hrs as Pilot In Command.

  COMMAND PILOT

This device represents a member of an aircrew with an accumulation of of flight time in excess of 1500+ hrs as Pilot In Command.

The highest obtainable rank within the VUSAF. This rank is reserved for administrators that are in command of  Whole service branches.

 This rank is held by administrators that are 2nd in command, of major service branches or   services. And is awarded by appointment.

This rank is held by senior staff members that are in command of individual MAJOR COMMANDS  (MAJCOM's) of the VUSAF. It is awarded by appointment.

This rank is held by senior staff members in charge of individual Wings and / or Groups within a  MAJCOM. It is awarded by appointment.

  This rank signifies, a member's initial entry point to the senior command staff. It is obtained thru longevity, flight / ATC time online and written examination. A member promoted to this grade, shall be placed in command of a specific organization within a wing or group of a MAJCOM.

  This rank signifies, a member's highest point within the junior command staff. It is obtained thru longevity, flight / ATC time online and written examination. A member promoted to this grade, shall be placed as second in command of a specific organization within a wing or group of a MAJCOM.

This rank signifies, a member's mildstone within the junior command staff. It is obtained thru longevity, flight / ATC time online and written examination. A member promoted to this grade, shall be placed in command of a specific squadron within a wing or group of a MAJCOM.

 This rank signifies, a member as senior commissioned officer and possibly entry level junior command staff. It is obtained thru longevity, flight / ATC time online and written examination. This rank signifies a member who has accrued minimal longevity and experience within his or her assigned organization. It is obtained thru completion of UPT phase 2, longevity, flight experience and written examination.

This rank is automatically given to entry level controllers and aircrew applicants. For aircrew applicants, it is awarded upon completion of UPT PHASE 1 initial checkride examination.
